Crossroads

Photo Description

An interesting part of Kansas City, the Crossroads District was named for its location between Downtown and Crown Center. It has a rich history, dating back to the 1930’s when it was known as Film Row. Hollywood needed a centralized region to distribute their films nationwide and Kansas City was chosen as its location. Almost twenty buildings in the area housed many motion picture studios such as MGM, Warner Brothers, Paramount and more. The Crossroads District is now a focal point for dining, art and technology. First Friday’s events are filled with fantastic local, artistic creations. The Kansas City Streetcar begins at Union Station, goes straight through the district ending at the River City Market area, making transportation convenient throughout much of downtown Kansas City. This area of Kansas City is located about 5 minutes south of downtown Kansas City.
