Raymore

Photo Description

This community was named after its founders George Rae and Henry Moore back in 1877. It was one of the last areas to be developed in Cass County as it was lacking in wooded areas, rivers and creeks. The founders helped build the Kansas City, Clinton and Springfield railroad which was instrumental in its growth. Being located along I-49 highway continues to aid in Raymore’s accelerated development. Every Tuesday from June to September, the original town farmer’s market offers much to its visitors from many of the amazing local farmers. Raymore has eight city parks that include a wide variety of amenities including fishing, playgrounds, amphitheater, walking trails, shelter houses, skate park, baseball complex, basketball court, tennis courts and a disc golf course. The TB Hanna Station City Park is inclusive. Inclusive parks take into consideration all aspects of being active including emotional, social and psychological benefits. Inclusive parks embrace the philosophy that everyone of ALL abilities can benefit from being able to play and interact together. Raymore also has an Arts Commission that hosts many events throughout the year and that are very supportive of local artists. Raymore is located about 30 minutes south of downtown Kansas City on I-49 highway (also known as 71 highway). Take the Hwy 58 exit and go left across the bridge.
